It seems like I have been running in every direction lately …things are busy, but I’m trying to be more purposeful in sharing on the blog. I attended an event last night and there were so many wonderful “take-aways” from the evening, but one that resonates this morning is … “don’t say one day, say day 1.” Whenever I attend conferences, seminars, meetings, etc…I always look for those little nuggets of goodness that I can relate to, improve upon and grow from …this was one of the many thoughts I took home form last night’s amazing group of women.
How many times do we say “tomorrow” or “one day” … I will make that dream a reality or start a new diet or spend more time with my family or restore a broken friendship or dedicate more time in the Bible or join a gym or schedule family portraits or organize that room that drives me crazy or re-decorate an area or purge unwanted clothes/items or volunteer for a cause or so many other things that we, as women, have to juggle everyday.
This thought hit me hard … with a busy life, there are so many things that we have to prioritize our attentions for and sometimes things just have to wait, or never happen at all. When I look back on this life I have lived, I don’t want to see wasted opportunities where I could have made a difference. So many times things like time, fear, past failures limit us in our choices and decisions and I’m determined to try to move forward with a different purpose.
In saying that … one small step in this direction professionally is to be more intentional in sharing the beautiful captures from our portrait sessions. When things get busy, often the blog sits quietly until there is time for updates. However, there are so many memories that are delayed in sharing and they really deserve to be shared today.
This sweet baby boy visited the studio recently for his custom styled photo shoot. Mom and dad have such an inspiring story of their journey into parenthood. They have walked down a very long and difficult road to arrive at this destination and this baby boy is truly an answer to many prayers.
I am so honored to share in this moment with them and watch these memories unfold … good memories, happy memories, memories of complete adoration and love. Have I mentioned lately how much I love this job of mine? It is so fulfilling to watch families grow and witness the love between them. This couple has been beaming with anticipation to meet their baby boy since I met them many months ago. Their maternity photo shoot was so joyful and their love for one another and for this baby boy is so evident in every image. To see them now with this sweet baby in their arms, it is such a blessing.
With shades of blue in his nursery, we created this gorgeous blue inspired theme, with an organic approach so that his images are dreamy and beautiful, just like him!
