lil’ cowgirl portraits Greensboro Child Photographer, Burlington NC Family Photos Chapel Hill

I love watching my babies grow over their first year as Baby portrait Planners, watching their personalities develop is so fun!  I also love continuing to photograph them as they grow beyond the first year.

Mom contacted me to schedule this sweet girl’s 2nd birthday photo shoot and I was so honored and excited to capture these memories for her!  She shared with me her wardrobe choices and I knew this would be amazing!

Mom wore this little red hat and these little red cowboy boots for her 2nd birthday photo shoot, so she wanted to incorporate them into her daughter’s photo shoot as well…such a treasured memory to share!

Have I mentioned I have a multitude of props before?  I have quite the collection … I am always looking for something unique and often save props for just the right occasion.

When I heard red boots and hat, I knew this was the perfect occasion to debut my horsey prop.  At first, I was a bit reluctant.  I have spent years with little ones from teaching Sunday school, children’s church to photographing little ones … and I have learned over the years, sometimes “big” things like this horsey is a bit intimidating for some little ones.  I **almost** didn’t bring it along for fear she may be apprehensive around the big horsey.  In the end, I decided to bring it along and quietly introduce her to horsey gently … and see what happens.

I arrived at the location and began setting up … I put the horsey option out there along with a few others and thought we would give it a try…praying she would take to horsey, as I knew it would be a beautiful portrait, if captured.  Much to my surprise, she arrived on site and ran *with arms wide open* to horsey … she instantly loved him!  In fact, she kept going back to him throughout the photo shoot.

This sweet girl is turning two and I have been photographing her since she was a tiny baby.  She has the sweetest personality and is the best two year old ever!  We captured magic, here is one of my many favorites, more to share soon!
