Good morning Tuesday!

I have been busy planning HUGE things that will roll out in 2014, but I have also been inundated with emails from other photographers lately asking all sorts of questions from workflow to editing, gear to equipment preferences, mentoring, shooting, and technicalities of the business.

So much so, in the spirit of giving, I have decided to give back to the photography industry in a few different ways, I’ll start with two today…

1.)  I am often asked about what gear I have and while it’s well known I am a loyal Nikon girl, I decided to share a few of my  favorite things that I personally use on a daily basis.  They are practical, functional and I threw in a few for fun too!  : )

So if you are Christmas shopping for yourself or want to forward this blog to your spouse as a “hint” .. feel free.

Every photographer can attest to the fact that carrying a purse during a photo shoot is too cumbersome, and sometimes, we are in locations that are less than ideal to leave your purse in the car unattended (even if it is locked). So, the prefect solution is this smartphone wristlet by Vera Bradley. It is just the right size to throw in your pocket on the day of a shoot. It has space for your phone, ID, money and cards. I even hook my keys to it, so it serves as an all-in-one wallet/keychain for me! : ) It’s a must have for a busy on-location photographer.

This lens pen is always by my side during a session. So often the elements can cause your lens to get dusty or dirty during a shoot. This lens pens is the perfect compact solution to clean your lens. It is dual ended with a brush and a cleaner!

What is more fun and festive than a theme inspired camera strap? There are so many of these I love, from lace, to rosettes, to burlap, to fun graphics and prints. No more boring black camera straps! That brings a smile to my face! : )

I actually own this very bag in Orange, it’s the Libby from Kelly Moore and it meets and exceeds all my needs. The perfect size for gear and laptop, even ipad too! I love my little orange libby … it goes everywhere with me! : )

This is a must have, I have many of these card cases to keep my cf and sd cards safe and sound. : )

=================================================================================================================2.)  Due to the abundant requests from other photographers, I have decided to open up a consulting resource for other photographers (outside of NC).

This will be a “help line” of sorts and we can discuss anything from editing, workflow, gear (I started out with Canon and converted to Nikon, so I am well versed in both), equipment, business forms, lighting, venue scouting, computers (I started out with a pc, but now use Mac, so I am versed in both), Photoshop, marketing, SEO, social networking, business, and so much more.

Your consulting session is customized to address the issues you need assistance with.  Structured goals can be suggested or we can just work through the issues at hand.  A follow up is scheduled to address and continuing issues you may need assistance with.  It’s easy, information packed and result oriented.

Whether you are just starting your photography business or need to jump start an existing one, we are here to help!  For more details, visit our “Help Desk” page.  I am excited to work with you!
